Mission
Ensure the safety of all those who enter any structure while striving for full, fair and consistent compliance through building regulations.

Responsibilities
The Building Department is responsible for approving and inspecting all new private construction in Ozark. All new construction, as well as renovation work, must be in compliance with the city's building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire codes.

Construction work is inspected while in progress and once completed to ensure the work is performed in accordance with the codes. The applicants shall be responsible for the cost of all third-party reviews. This shall include, but will not be limited to, architecture, engineering, stormwater, and traffic reviews, among others. The City of Ozark will be the sole determiner of the requirements for these reviews and will issue and track invoices for these costs.
