Yes, it is possible! While retrofitting existing floors with waterproofing solutions may require some effort and investment, it can be a viable option depending on the condition and type of flooring you have.

While it technically is possible to waterproof over existing waterproofing, it is not something we would recommend. Alternatively, we recommend you invest in remedial waterproofing such as that we offer at Remedial Property Solutions.

Depending on the extent of damage on your waterproofing membrane, your roofer may recommend simple patches or a complete replacement. Of course, some waterproofing membranes are typically a sheet product which can be cold- or hot-applied as a patch. Other membranes will need to be applied as a liquid.

DRYING TIME

Allow 1-2 hours between first and second coats. If DUNLOP® POLYESTER REINFORCING MAT is used between coats the second coat should be applied while the first coat is still wet. The membrane will be completely dry after 48 hours at 23°C or 5 days at 10°C.
