Homemade Whole Grain Pasta Recipe (1)

There’s nothing that compares to fresh homemade wholegrain pasta. We love it in with chicken artichoke Alfredo or quick blush sausage sauce.

Homemade Whole Grain Pasta Recipe (2)

It’s been a while since I’ve gushed over my pasta maker but don’t be mistaken. We are still living the life of luxury eating fresh pasta.

Really it’s bad we can’t go back. The few times I’ve used the last of the noodles remaining in our cupboard we were both like meh. We’re totally spoiled. Thankfully fresh noodles are so flipping easy and cheap it’s totally worth it.

This recipe makes about 1 1/4 lbs of pasta.

I usually pile the dough and freeze them and they can go straight into boil water and only takes a few minutes. It’s so delicious.

And if you want my opinion. I absolutely love my kitchen aid pasta roller attachment. I have the 3 piece set with the roller and two cutters. If you need a gift for a foodie type (or yourself ;) )

I can’t recommend this any higher. I totally wish I had forked out the money for this ages ago. Plus there is something so relaxing about it.

LIl Mys Ninja I’ve actually made pasta with a rolling pin and pizza cutter. It’s yummy for sure but the attachment or even a hand crank machine that you can buy for 20$ at ross is nice since it can get it good and thin. But then again maybe you don’t want to dive into it since you’ll be stuck like us always wanting fresh pasta haha

I’ve always viewed making your own pasta as a big inconvenience, but you make it seem so easy. I might have to rethink this and buy a pasta roller attachment.

So when you freeze it is it really just out of the machine? You don’t have to dry it at all first? It doesn’t stick together and rip apart? Your drying rack is awesome, by the way. Did you buy that or make that yourself, too?

kimberly, yes you can just freeze it. I toss it in some flour when I do the piles, I let the piles sit for about an hour then freeze the piles on the cookie sheet (each pile is a serving) then I put them all in a plastic bag. When I go to cook them I just toss the frozen bundle in the boiling water and stir to loosen it up some. The drying rack is my moms that she got ages ago. I don’t think my mom thought that drying was any better than freezing but they’re more likely to break if they’re dried and you storing them is a bit more annoying

Love it! I haven’t made pasta for so long I’d pretty much forgotten how. Will need to try it again. Love the idea of freezing pasta blobs. Seems way easier than drying to store

yes I think you should be able to. It will be a bit of a heavier pasta (which is not my boys favorites) but it works.
