What is Houseplans com used for? ›

Houseplans.com is the #1 source for ready-made house floor plans and architectural designs on the internet.

Exterior and interior wall framing, and windows/doors are dimensioned. Room sizes are indicated and any beams, posts and structural bearing points are called out. The floorplans include an electrical legend, and electrical fittings, lights and outlets are shown.

It is optional to include separate plumbing plans in the set of drawings - the majority of the time, we include electrical and plumbing locations on the dimensioned floor plan pages. In simple terms, a home designer provides the location of plumbing fixtures, such as toilets, showers, and basins.

Common Symbols and Features on Floor Plans

The room dimensions are noted, and you can see how the door swings, how the space can fit a king-sized bed, the size of the closet, and the bathroom with a double vanity and linen closet. You can also see the placement of the windows.

The typical plan set does not include any plumbing, heating or air conditioning drawings due to the wide variety of local codes and climatic conditions. These details and specifications are easily obtained from your builder, contractor, and/or local suppliers.
